LUTly Dive processes your footage on your device. Your videos are never uploaded when you import, filter, edit, or export. We do not use your clips to train AI models, and we do not sell or share your data.
LUTly Dive iOS app. No account is required and there is no sign-up. Videos you import stay on your device. Saving to Photos uses Apple's add-only photo access, so the app cannot read or modify your library.
AI Grade. AI Grade is optional and is the only part of LUTly Dive that sends anything off your device. The app asks your permission before the first grade, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings.
When you run an AI Grade, LUTly sends a small number of still frames sampled from the clip you are grading, summary colour statistics for that clip, the depth and water type you have set for it, and any description or tweak you type. The app sends no identifier for you or for your device. Your video files themselves are never uploaded, and the frames are re-encoded so they carry no location or camera information. This data is used only to compute the grade for that clip. So that the free daily allowance cannot be abused, our service counts requests against a one-way hash of your network address combined with the date, which changes every day and cannot be reversed to identify you.
The frames go to LUTly's grading service, which uses Google's Gemini model, accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway, to analyse the colour and return grade settings. Google acts as a processor and handles the data under its paid API terms, which provide protection equivalent to this policy. Under those terms Google does not use this data to train or improve its models, and may keep it for a limited period only to detect abuse and meet legal obligations. LUTly does not retain the frames after the grade is returned, does not store the description you type when you grade from the iOS app, and does not use either to train AI models.
Everything else in LUTly Dive, including the depth filters, the manual colour controls, trim, framing and export, runs entirely on your device.
LUTly web app. If you create an account we store your email address, authentication identifiers, subscription status, and basic product usage events, for example that a LUT was generated or exported. This lets us run your account, enforce plan limits, and improve the product. Video processing in the web app happens in your browser. Your original source files never leave your device.
Purchases in the LUTly Dive iOS app are processed by Apple. Web subscriptions are processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.
We do not show ads. We do not sell your data. We do not allow third-party tracking of your footage.
You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by emailing us. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing of your personal data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We will respond within 30 days.
LUTly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new last updated date. For account holders, we may also notify you by email or in the app.
